STORY
RogLab was conceived as a production, educational and presentation space in a 30 m² container object, acting as a mini-hub for creatives with an emphasis on providing access to production tools. RogLab’s goal was to develop and test content, partnerships and working modalities on a small scale, which could in turn go on to find a permanent place, continuation and upgrade in the newly established Rog Centre, currently under construction. In 2018 RogLab won the EUROCITIES Innovation Award for its contribution to innovation in local ecosystems, involving residents in its decision-making, and its use of innovation to improve resilience and sustainability.
MISSION
With its modern infrastructure, expertise and international connections, RogLab provides creators, organisations, businesses and the general public with a supportive environment for the development of innovative, socially beneficial projects that meet the challenges of the 21st century.
VISION
The Rog Centre is being set up as part of the revival of the Rog factory site, and will form a link between the city centre and the newly built cultural centre and Cukrarna gallery. The revitalisation plans for the Rog site include the renovation of the factory itself, together with construction of an underground car park and the conversion of the factory courtyard into a multi-purpose park.
