What’s the project story?

I am an graphic engineer but for personal reasons, I had to quit my job and build my own business. I designed boxes for kids that allowed me to earn enough money to live but when I discover the Fablab Puebla and I learnt how to use the machine, I thought that I can see bigger.

I was always interested in furniture and design interior so I started to think about a designer product that everyone can buy for a low cost. To give people access to art pieces it should be easy for me to produce with basic materials.

This idea appealed to the director of IDIT incubation department who offered me to work on this project with a student and an engineer in the entrepreneur program. One year later, we have designed a complete line of lamps and developed its business model to commercialize it.

How the workshop was useful ?

It was useful to build the prototype but also to design the product to be made by digital machines in order to reach a high quality level while making it very fast.

What’s the project’s greatest success so far?

Being able to make my idea coming true is my biggest success. Not only because it is beyond my expectations in terms of design and art but also because it was conceived for the customer needs we have studied.

What’s your greatest failure(s)& lesson(s) so far?

Thanks to the design thinking approach, I learnt at each step of the process and even if it took me one year to achieve the project, it enabled me to secure it.

What’s your vision for the project & next steps?

I would like to sell it to earn benefits for the cooperative.

How can anyone interested can contribute to the project?

They can contact me to buy it and to contribute to a new version.
