SatNOGS - an open source satellite stations network

Designed and developped in Maker's Asylum

Technology - machines & tools Space Electronics

SatNOGS is a global satellite ground station network. Built as an open source project, run by volunteers around the world. Join us!

What’s the project story?

Thomas is working as an embedded software developer. He is a highly involved member of the Maker’s Asylum community, and his level of implication to help others made him the “lab lead” of the electronic lab. With 3 other members, they started to work on the SatNOGS open source project initiated in Greece, to build their own ground station in Mumbai. It allows to track the Low Earth Orbits satellites and receives their information.

How do they interact with the workshop?

The project has been built in the lab from the start. They use all machines and tools to realize it, and each member of the community can provide their help.

What’s next?

The mechanical part is done and software still needs to be improved. As the satNODS remains a side project for its members, it should be working in September 2017!
