We are a team of people combined from makers, designers, architects, artists, and in the following years, we will restore an old traditional Ukrainian house to its original beauty and turn it into a rural creative space for learning and working. This space is made for makers, artists, architects, scientists, and all creatives!

MAKERS RESIDENCY 2022 - CREATIVE RURAL HUB

⬇ Positive Impact Mobility ⬇

  • TYPE OF ACTIVITIES: Build geodesic domes and design tiny houses
  • PERIOD: 3 weeks
  • DATES: Mid-August to the beginning of September 2022 (to be determined together)
  • TRANSPORT: Included (from Ivano-Frankivsk/Kolomyia), each of the residents will be given a bike.
  • ACCOMMODATION: Camping place in the orchard. Tents, sleeping bags, and campings mats are provided. Outdoor shower and composting toilet.
  • FOOD: Not included
  • MATERIALS: Included
  • FINANCIAL SUPPORT: Not included
  • HOW MANY PLACES: 2
  • APPLICATION DEADLINE: 15th July 2022

Summer 2022 is coming soon, we are now preparing the next summer camp program and plans. We strongly turn our energy into building our geodesic dome and designing tiny houses. We look for experienced makers/designers to help us to make it possible.

What we expect from participants

  • Create trust and start a dialogue with the local community
  • Focus on the communicative and community-forming power of art
  • Participative approach to art, with the aim to make a positive impact via physical or digital mediums
  • To facilitate positive impact mobility
  • To help develop harmonious relationships between local communities, nature, and travelers

What we offer

  • Time for slow-thinking
  • Rural context for sustainable living and travel experience

Creative Rural Hub is founded by a group of friends - makers, designers, architects, artists. It is located in the small village Verhnij Verbizh in Ivano Frankivsk district, Ukraine.

Western Ukraine is famous for its craftsmanship, rich cultural inheritance and beautiful nature of Carpathian Mountains.

Living in this environment is inspiring and enriching, and it gives the chance to learn local crafts and discover Ukraine.

This project will help to link international and local creatives, providing the space for learning, working together and exchanging experiences and knowledge.

Ah!! and the meaning of the sign we have used for Creative Rural Hub is “settlement next to mountains” and it has been taken originally from pysanka (Ukrainian Easter egg)

The local community is slowly growing. We mostly have local/international people on site over summers. Also since we are located in mountains we can’t keep the space open all year long. However, it’s always possible to email us. Our team will always be happy to get in touch with you :
