Space Electronics

Zenithscope is an open program to help anyone in the world look at the stars from a different perspective!

What’s the project story?

Tanvir is a mechanical engineer passionate about astronomy. With his friend, they wanted to help people to learn more about the stars and planets. But when you don’t have the right tools, it is not always easy to find the position of starts. So they created the “Zenithscope”, a telescope linked to an application. It just needs your location and the stars you want to look at, then the telescope will adjust its position automatically. Moreover, the Zenithscope is an open program, and anyone can access from its smartphone any zenithscope in the world to look at the stars from a different perspective.

How do they interact with the workshop?

This project is part of their FabAcademy course that they are following in the lab. They use all machines to prototype their Zenithscope and benefit from the help of the technical instructors.

What’s next?

Their final Zenithsope prototype should be ready by the end of June 2017, to be presented to the fabacademy. They are already in contact with planetariums and schools in the state of Kerala interested by their invention.
