Copenhagen Fablab - a user-driven open access workshop with tools to make (almost) anything.

The city of Valby was supposed to move their library in another building. So they decided to transorm this new and empty place into a Public service to give access to digital culture to anyone.
After almost a decade now, the community is growing too much and the old library is not big enough, so they decided to open a spare place in another part of the city.
2 locations are now available to make (almost) anything in the Fablab.
Rasmus is probably the one that we all know. However, he’s not alone !
It’s another name for the volunteers who has the knowledge and skill set to help you get started on your project.
A SuperUser is a Fablab volunteer that wants to use the Fablab frequently for their projects. In addition, they want to help make it a fun and inspiring place for everybody by maintaining tools and improving the facilities, teach other users and taking shifts to open locked equipment. If you want to know more then drop by when we are open.
from hosting an open machine day for everybody or Badge owners, helping manage the homepage, doing a workshop on a specific skill or tool, fixing a machine or improving the facilities, representing Fablab at a local event, etc
The community is quite huge. And everyday people can come and use the facilities.
There is no membership – anyone can use the Fablab for free without making reservations by following these 4 rules:
No commercial production
Leave the Fablab cleaner than it was before
Share your projects
Help others and maintain the tools
To access locked equipment, only volunteers are there to give access to the machines, workshops or intros. If you want to access locked equipment at all times, you can become a volunteer aka SuperUser.
The fablab is sustainable thanks to the city of Copengagen - Valby quarter, in south-west of the capital.
The cultural center is supporting the cost of the daily life of the Fablab.
